最近SNSで「ランゴ兄さん」というワードが急上昇していた。仮面ライダー？兄さん？なんやそれ？と思いつつ調べてみたら、まさかの“元社長の苦労人キャラ”がネットでバズっているという。

このブログでは、そんな“ランゴ兄さん現象”を、特撮に詳しくない50代オッサンの目線で、まじめに、でもちょっと笑いも交えながら語ってみたいと思う。

【1. ランゴ兄さんって誰？】

『仮面ライダーガヴ』という今の特撮番組に出てくる敵キャラ。異世界の大手お菓子企業「ストマック社」の社長・ランゴ・ストマック。見た目はクールで、戦えばめちゃくちゃ強い。でも、社内では部下に裏切られたり、妹に好き勝手されたり、社長をクビにされて仕入れ担当に降格されたり…。めっちゃ報われへん人やった。

…と言われても、正直「誰やねんそれ」って感じやろうと思う。僕も最初そうやった。仮面ライダーなんて、子どもが小さい頃に一緒に見てた記憶くらいで、今どきのシリーズはよう知らん。

でも、調べてみたら、この“ランゴ兄さん”、どこか昔の自分と重なるような部分があって、思わず引き込まれてもうたんよ。

【2. なぜトレンド入りしたのか？】

正直、「それだけでバズるん？」って思うやろうし、僕も最初はそうやった。でも今のSNSって、ちょっとクセのあるキャラが“ネタ化”されると、爆発的に広がることがあるねん。

「なに！？○○が××だと！？」っていうセリフが、今どきの大喜利やパロディにぴったりハマった。…言うたら、あれや、吉本新喜劇の“ズッコケ芸”に近いノリやねん。わかってても笑ってまう、あの感じ。もう「そろそろ来るぞ…はい出た〜！」っていう、吉本新喜劇の“いつものギャグ”みたいな空気感やな。しかも、その驚きっぷりが妙にリアルで「自分もよくこうなるわ」って共感が集まったんやろな。

つまり、みんなが笑える“いじられキャラ”やけど、どこか「自分も似たような目に遭ったことある」って思える…そんな絶妙な存在が、ネットで火がついたってわけやな。言うたら、ベタなんよ。昔からある「わかってても笑ってまう」パターン。今どきでも、そういう“ベタ”が逆にウケる時代なんかもしれん。

【3. なぜ“苦労人”と呼ばれているのか】

上司から無理な命令を受け、部下に足を引っ張られ、家族は勝手ばかり。どれだけ頑張っても報われず、降格までされる。でも、それでも冷静で責任感を持って仕事を続ける姿に、「なんか…わかるな」と思ってしまった。僕の場合は、生活のため、家族を守るため、子どもたちのためにやってきた。それだけが支えやった。顔は笑っていたけど、体は悲鳴を上げていた。

【4. 50代サラリーマンが感じたリアルな共感】

最近ふと思うんよ。寿命までの時間のほうが、もう短いんやなって。そう思った瞬間、なんか少し吹っ切れた気がした。無理してしがみつくんやなくて、これからどう生きようかって考えるようになった。

ブログを始めたのも、もしかしたらその気持ちの表れやったんかもしれん。「残りの人生、何か残したい」「誰かに届いたらええな」──そんな気持ちが、自分の背中を支えたんかもしれんな。

今はもう、あの頃ほどピリピリしてへん。けど、あの時のしんどさを知ってるからこそ、今こうして笑えてるんやと思う。なんでピリピリしてへんのかって？…慣れたんかなぁ。それとも、感じなくなってしもたんかもしれん。もし後者やったら、ちょっと怖いよな。しんどいことに気づかへんようになってるって、それはそれで危ない気もする。

【5. ネタキャラ？それとも氷河期世代のヒーロー？】

一見ネタっぽいキャラやけど、見てるうちに「ランゴ兄さんは、Z世代とかやなくて、まさに氷河期・団塊ジュニア世代の象徴ちゃうか」と思えてきた。報われへんけど、仕事に向き合う。正義とか悪とかじゃなくて、“自分の役目をちゃんと果たす人”。それって、ある意味ヒーローや。言い換えれば、“縁の下の力持ち”やと思う。

【6. おわりに――哀愁にビールで乾杯】

ランゴ兄さんを見て、「こんなオッサンおるわ〜」って笑いながら、ちょっと自分を重ねてしみじみしてもうた。

ほんまはな、今夜ランゴ兄さんと並んで、無言で一杯やってみたい。何も言わんでもええ。ただ静かに、ちょっと笑って、ちょっとしみじみして。そんな夜があってもええんちゃうかな、って思う。

[1. Who is Rango Bro?]

Rango Stomach is a character from the current tokusatsu series “Kamen Rider Gav.” He used to be the CEO of an evil snack corporation from another dimension — the Stomach Company. Cool in appearance and crazy powerful in battle… but within the company, he’s constantly betrayed by subordinates, ignored by family, and ultimately demoted from CEO to procurement manager. The guy just can’t catch a break.

When I first heard the name, I had no clue. I mean, I used to watch Kamen Rider when my kids were little, but I haven’t kept up in years. Still, the more I read about Rango Bro, the more I saw shades of myself — my past — in him.

[2. Why Did He Start Trending?]

At first, I was like, “This guy’s trending just for saying weird lines?” But in the world of social media, a quirky character can go viral in seconds.

Rango Bro’s famous line — “What!? [blank] is [blank], you say!?” — caught fire online. It became a meme, a parody, a running joke. Imagine something like Yoshimoto Shinkigeki, that classic Japanese slapstick — you know it’s coming, but it’s still funny. It became a kind of ritual: “Here it comes… there it is!”

It’s so cliché, it loops back around to being entertaining again. The “Rango Bro template” hit that sweet spot. People were laughing… and some were nodding along in understanding.
