I Used to Think Beam Sabers Were Everything
ファーストガンダムを観てたのは、小学生の頃やった。
アムロとシャアの戦い、モビルスーツのド派手な戦闘に心奪われて、
「ビームサーベル、かっこええな〜」って毎週ワクワクしてた。
それから40年以上。
また“新しいガンダム”を観るとは思わんかった。
2025年4月14日。
観たのは話題の『Gundam GQuuuuuuX』第6話。
タイトルは「キシリア暗殺計画」――この時点で、ザワッとした。
「え、キシリアって…シャアにバズーカで頭吹き飛ばされたはずやろ？」って。
戦闘シーンは少なめで、ちょっと物足りへん。
でも、その代わりに僕の心に残ったのは――あの“赤本”やった。
I first watched the original Gundam as a kid, mesmerized by Amuro and Char’s fierce battles.
Beam sabers? So cool. I’d sit glued to the TV.Decades passed. Then on April 14, 2025, I watched Episode 6 of Gundam GQuuuuuuX.
The title? “The Assassination of Kycilia.”“Wait—Kycilia? Didn’t Char blow her away in the original?”
Not much action this time. A bit disappointing, honestly.
But what stuck with me… was that red university guidebook.

The Red Book in Nyaan’s Room
ふと画面の隅に映った赤い本に目が留まった。
そこには「ジオン工科大学」って書かれてた。
一瞬、「え、リアルな赤本やん…」って声が出た。
ジオンにも大学あるんか？
ザク整備の実習とか、サイコミュ理論の講義とか？
妄想が止まらんかった。
そして思った。
これ、キシリアが作った大学ちゃうんか？って。
ファーストでも、キシリアはニュータイプ研究の中枢にいた。
もしあの時、彼女が死なずに生き延びてたら…
“軍事技術を学問に落とし込む”発想は十分あり得る。
赤本の存在が、そのリアルさを物語っていた。
Just a glimpse of a red book on the screen—“Zeon Institute of Technology.”
And my imagination ran wild.
Zaku maintenance workshops? Psycommu lectures?Could it be… Kycilia’s doing?
She led research into Newtypes in the original timeline.
If she had survived, she might’ve founded a whole institution to train youth in war science.One red book suggested an entire rewritten world.
🔁 シャアが撃たなかった世界線
What If Char Had Let Her Live?
ファーストでは、キシリアはギレンを撃ってザビ家のトップを狙った――
その瞬間、シャアに撃たれて終わる。
でももし、あの時撃たれへんかったら？
今回のジークアクスは、そんな“もしも”の世界線なんかもしれへん。
ジオンは戦後も残り、
ニュータイプ研究や強化人間の開発が続き、
ジオン工科大学が存在する世界。
サイコガンダムも、兵器としての人間も、当たり前になってる。
これ、もう完全に“書き換えられた世界”やん。
In the original, Kycilia was gunned down by Char right after taking out Gihren.
But what if he hadn’t?
GQuuuuuuX might be exploring that very possibility.
A world where Zeon endures.
Where Newtype experiments don’t stop.
Where the Zeon Institute of Technology becomes real.This isn’t just a new story—it’s a rewriting of everything.
🌀 戦わないガンダムが教えてくれたこと
This “Non-Fighting” Gundam Made Me Think
正直、戦闘がなかったのはちょっと物足りなかった。
でも、代わりに得た“気づき”があった。
戦いのない分、登場人物の想いがくっきりと浮かび上がってきた。
マチュがぽつりとつぶやいた。
「また書き換えなきゃ…」
あれは物語のセリフだけじゃない。
僕ら自身の“生き方”にも向けられた言葉やと思った。
今のガンダムは、「戦う理由」そのものを問い直してる。
そしてそれに気づけた僕も、少し変わったのかもしれない。
I missed the battles.
But in that silence, I found something else: reflection.
When Machu muttered, “We’ve got to rewrite it again,”
it wasn’t just about the story.It was about us.
Gundam now isn’t just about war—it’s questioning the meaning behind it.
And maybe I’ve changed, too.
After all, even in Gundam… the past can be rewritten to forge a new future.
